About The Training

Are you a therapist or mental health provider that wants to learn about and embody Disability Justice, but are unsure how to start? This training is for you.

In this training, participants will learn about key events and concepts within Disability history. We will identify and differentiate between 4 models of Disability: medical, social, rights, and justice. Together, we will explore the the 10 Principles of Disability Justice and their applications for mental health providers.

This training is designed for mental health and wellness professionals as it includes clinical content. It is also suitable for anyone interested in mental wellness and social justice.

About the Presenters

They explore Disability Justice, Accessibility, LGBTQIA+ Justice, Sex Positivity, and Fat Liberation through visual art & graphic design, poetry & writing, vocal performance, consulting, speaking engagements, and more.

 

Melody Li, LMFT

Melody Li LMFT Mental Health Liberation Inclusive TherapistsMelody Li (they/佢) is a mental health justice activist and licensed psychotherapist. They are proudly queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent, and Asian.

They founded Inclusive Therapists, a social justice and liberation-oriented mental health directory, resource & education hub, and community centering people with marginalized identities. (BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, Neurodivergent, Disabled communities).

They also founded Mental Health Liberation, a non-profit organization bridging BIPOC individuals with free, culturally-responsive & identity-affirming therapy, and empowering students and emerging clinicians of the global majority.
Their activism focuses on collective liberation and healing.
